Creating inclusive futures for LGBTI people as we age
11–12 June 2026 | Canberra, ACT
Australia’s foremost gathering dedicated to the health, wellbeing and inclusion of LGBTI older people.
Evolving from the long-running National LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care Conference, Ageing in Difference 26 brings together LGBTI people, aged care providers, policymakers, researchers and advocates to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships and shape inclusive systems of care.
The conference will explore what it means to age well in Australia, highlighting the experiences, strengths and aspirations of LGBTI older people. Sessions will examine inclusive service design, workforce capability, policy reform, community connection and the social and structural factors that influence healthy ageing.
As the Australian population ages, Ageing in Difference 26 provides a vital forum for reflection and collaboration - one that celebrates the resilience and diversity of LGBTI communities, while charting a course toward a future where all people can age with dignity, visibility and pride.
Part of Australia’s Premier LGBTIQ+ Conference Series
Held back-to-back with the Health in Difference 2026 Conference (10–11 June), Ageing in Difference will close an inspiring week of learning and collaboration focused on health, ageing and care across our communities.
Together, these conferences will shape the next decade of action in LGBTIQ+ health and ageing — aligning with the implementation of the National 10-Year Action Plan and insights from the 2026 Census.
